It is sometimes necessary to appoint an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) during the construction phase of a project or to oversee sensitive area clearances.
An ECoW can:
- provide method statements
- deliver tool box talks to contractors
- undertake pre-works checks for protected / notable species
- supervise works in sensitive areas
- nesting / breeding bird checks
- resolve ecological issues while on site
